Thanet Taxis is the longest established community taxi and private hire company in Thanet and have been operating for almost 40 years. (Est. 1982) It was originally named Chauffeur Taxis and Private Hire. Today with over 140 vehicles we can offer a service which is the envy of other local taxi and private hire operators.

We are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and with a fully computerised booking and dispatch system, we are always able to take bookings quickly and efficiently. With well over three decades in the business of taxis and private hire, the constant upgrading of cars and the on-going development of our state of the art Cab Despatch system we at Thanet Taxis have the experience and capability to meet our customers’ demands.

Our telephonists and office staff are all trained to deal with your request, be it for a local shopping trip, a regular booking to get you to your place of work or maybe a special trip to the airport or even further afield.

You can request to pay by card with the telephonist or in-car as our drivers have contactless card readers. The cars are all modern and kept clean with regular checks made by the council as well as by company management.

The drivers all have a good knowledge of the area and are always glad to assist you. If you are travelling further afield our drivers all have satellite-navigation systems to save time and to make any journey stress free.

Our main office 'The Cab Call Centre' is situated at 76 Northdown Road, Margate and is a modern and well-equipped premise. The office is manned twenty-four hours by friendly and obliging staff that will be happy to assist you with your booking or enquiry. There is also an office at 32 High Street Broadstairs opposite Tesco’s and another at 31 King Street Ramsgate opposite Iceland, these two offices are open and manned from early morning until late at night and have intercoms for easy ordering when closed.
